Rockford, IL: August 1, 2010-The Rockford Rage is excited to announce the first ever Flat Track Roller Derby Tournament in Rockford, IL! Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the Indoor Sports Center/Sportscore II, 8800 E. Riverside Blvd to experience roller derby at its finest.

8 teams from around the Midwest will battle it out on the flat track in this double elimination style tournament. If you have never seen flat track roller derby, this is your best opportunity. Come support your home team, the Rockford Rage Women’s Roller Derby, as they skate to win on their home court.

Vendor village will open when doors open at 8:30am. Action begins at 9am. The SkyBox restaurant will be open all day for food and drinks (alcoholic beverages available after noon). Join us at the Tilted Kilt Rockford, located in the Clock Tower Resort for a Pre-Tournament Party on August, 20, 2010, 6-9pm.

Get your tickets online at Brown Paper Tickets Online or locally at Culture Shock, The Indoor Sports Center, Maintenance Man Salon inside PEAK Sports Club and the Tilted Kilt Rockford located at the Clock Tower Resort. Tickets are only $20 for all day derby action. Come for the main “full bouts” after 5pm and buy a ticket for just $10. Kids are $10 all day and $5 after 5. Kids under 5 are always free.

The Rockford Rage Women’s Roller Derby is Rockford’s first, and only, all-female flat track roller derby league. The organization was formed in the summer of 2006 as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting positive female interaction and athleticism and helping the community through charitable contributions, fundraisers and benefits. The league is run by the skaters, referees and other support staff, all who are volunteers within the organization. The Rockford Rage is a proud member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA).
