Pride in the Bluegrass!
Black-N-Bluegrass Roller Girls would like to invite you to come to show your PRIDE at our “Pride in the Bluegrass” Derby bout on June 1st at Hits Indoor Baseball! Doors for this double-header are open at 4 pm, the first Black-N-Bluegrass Junior Roller Derby team plays at 4:30 PM and your BBRG Blackouts take on Lafayette Roller Derby at 8 PM. We would love to see those rainbows shine, so sport your best queer pride shirts, flags, and face paints, we will pick the best individual and group representation for NKY PRIDE at the bout. We will host our mini “Pride Parade” at halftime to celebrate our LGBTQ community, all are welcome to join us on the track.
In true ally-fashion, the Big Hits and Big Hearts campaign will be partnering with the Greater Cincinnati chapter of GLSEN (pronounced “glisten”) to raise money in our split the pot to support this foundation that helps local LGBTQPIA youth be the brilliant individuals they are. GLSEN’s Safe Space Training helps LGBTQPIA students to have a
safe school environment to learn and grow in while being valued and respected for who they are. GLSEN’s Greater Cincinnati Youth Group is offering a place where LGBTQPIA youth and their allies can gather with peers on Mondays in Mt. Auburn to socialize and organize education equality efforts. This bout will take place at Hits Sportsplex, 3785 Lake Park Drive, Covington, Kentucky and feature two full-contact roller derby games. Adults $10 (16+)
Kids $5 (7-15)
Parking is Free and Kids 6 & under do not require a ticket. Split the pot, silent auction, team swag, and food/beer will be available! Group Tickets are available by emailing blacknbluegrass@gmail.com!
